Talk with admins? New link to archived English dub
Hey all, I have NO idea how to use this site, but I would like to introduce myself as Rodney, AKA RodPatch, Rodpatchi, Rodney, Tokoro Tennosuke Lover!, and Bobobomegafan. If any admin is seeing this, I would like to first know how to contact them, either through here or elsewhere (Discord, IMessage, YouTube, wherever, really). And second, I would like to link to my archive of the english dub for Bobobo to prove that it indeed exists. Bobobo English Dub Archive (archive.org)
Black Owl has been translated into Spanish!
Apparently Black Owl has been unofficially translated into Spanish (since 2019)!! It's published under "Kuro Fukurou" for those curious. This might already be known info to some, but this is the first time I've seen it. No update on the English translation for Black Owl, but if you know Spanish, you can read it right now!
I still plan to transcribe it, but since my post-college break I've been preoccupied by the archival of the video game guidebooks and a couple other things. I haven't made a blog post in a LONG while, but I figure for something like this, its worth giving an update through this format.
HUGE update to the Little Devil Koron Translation Project
At last, I have completed the translation of Little Devil Koron to the the best of my abilities! It will be posted in place of the Japanese transcript on my user page shortly (don't worry, I have the full Japanese transcript elsewhere in case anyone wants it).
As for image achival of the manga itself?
Also complete! ... But that's it. Relplacing the orginal text with the english text has not yet begun.
As for where you can finally see this historic piece of Yoshio Sawai's work once it's all done?!!
Legally speaking, you can't.
Well, that's all I have to say at this time. Bo-bobo Home Distribution Part II blog coming soon, as well as updates to the Little Devil Koron wiki page. Hope everyone's doing well!
Bobobon (Data Book) : Translator
Hello I co-ordered the book Bo-bobon, the data book. It will arrive between the 24th and the 30th, and it will be in Japanese. Will there be someone who could translate it if I can scan the book?
Bobobo Bo bo bobo
Hello. I'm a big fan of Bo-bobo, and I really appreciate the work you do. Currently I'm creating a sequel, and I'm trying to contact Yoshio Sawai for trying to get the rights for this to be official. Unfortunately it's very hard, and I do not know how to do it. But I'm full of hope. Also, seeing so many people making so much effort for this series that is not much known, makes me feel less alone. And I will gladly help, I will do anything, it's a bit my life and my future this thing ,haha.
So thank you
I'm Author, draftsman, scriptwriter and fan. I will post with pleasure to help you or to complete certain things. Thank you
Information on the BoboYa Event
Recently, I got bored and decided to go down the rabbit hole of defunct Bo-bobo websites (again, I should say) to see what kind of stuff I could find. During that, I stumbled across an old Livejournal fan group (which is a community blogging-type site) called "it's written as 'tears of the hair'". The archived page had posts from 2006 and 2007, and it was interesting to see people reacting to events of the manga and anime's US localization as they happened, such as a few posts talking about the Illumitoon Entertainment DVDs. However, the web capture hadn't saved much, so I decided to see if this Livejournal was even still around... And lo and behold, it was.
With the last post on the Livejournal being about Yoshio Sawai's "new" manga, Chage…
Bo-bobo Ougi 87.5 Guide Book Obtained!
Yep, I actually went and did it! After a long battle with figuring out how buying things from overseas places like Japan works, and then of course ordering it and waiting a week, it has arrived! I haven't had enough time to really begin mining the information out of it just yet since it is all in Japanese, but I'll start adding the info I find as soon as I can. The book also has an interview of Yoshio Sawai that looks pretty interesting, as well as Sawai's debut manga, Little Devil Koron. I'm wondering if I should try to scan that and translate it or something, since I haven't seen it anywhere else before... Anyways, that's about it.
Oh, and also I've started ripping some of the sprites for Bo-bobo Ougi 87.5; namely the battle ones. I haven…
The Bo-bobo Anime and US Home Distribution: A Star-Crossed Tragedy
Now, if you read my last blog, you'll know of the abismal ammount of effort that was put into localizing/distributing the Bo-bobo manga in America. While the manga's failure was due in part of Viz Media not feeling like it was worth trying to begin with, the Anime is a much different story...
The english dub of the Bo-bobo anime began airing on Cartoon Network's Toonami block in 2007. Despite the fact quite a few gags were either changed or entirely cut due to children's TV regulations, the english dub (by Phuuz Entertainment) still did an excellent job at capturing the insane wacky humor of the original Japanese version. While it was still relatively unpopular in comparison to other anime airing on the Toonami block at the time, it gained a…
1st Blog Post, Woo!
Ok. Uh... I haven't really introduced myself yet. So let's start with that. I'm RelativelySaneCultist (know also as That One) and I'd say I'm a pretty big fan of the Bo-bobo series... And, uh...
Yeah.
Alright, that's done!
Now for the actual blog. It's nothing special really, I've just been doing some research on the distribution of the Bo-bobo series in America (because why not). And, If you don't know much about it, well... How do I put this... It was TERRIBLE. Like, really really bad. "What was so bad about it?" You (probably) say? (maybe??)
Well, in late 2005, when the run of the original Bo-bobo manga in Japan's 'Weekly Shonen Jump' ended, Viz Media (a North American publishing company) released a one-shot style manga book. This book containe…
Images
Hi, I was wondering why when I upload an image, it is not seen in the image search engine. Is there any rule for that?Gmo1 (talk) 17:18, February 17, 2017 (UTC)
In what episode did they do the "bifocals" joke?
Bobobo says "Bifocals! They work this way and...this way!" At first, he's holding a pair of bifocals horizontally, and when he says "this way!", he turns them 90 degrees.
Episode Script Progress Report 1
Ever since I joined up with this Wiki, I have completed the episode scripts to Episodes 2 to 5. In addition to that, I have also done the recap and preview for Episode 6, and am working on the script. It may take a day or two to a week for me to finish the episode, based on the Bo-bobo Box Set.
In addition, I have also done recaps seen on the following episodes: 7, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 31, and my personal favorite (which I also added the preview on), Episode 32!
I encourage all who own the 38-Episode Uncut Box Set to contribute as much as you can. And those who don't have the DVD, you must buy it off Amazon.com, or any other retailer!
