Purupu (プルプー, Purupu) is a villian in Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. He is called Kitty-Poo in the English version of the anime. He is one of the Four Heavenly Kings.

Background

Purupu

Purupu

Purupu is a short, horned cat-faced creature with large eyes. In the manga he is purple, while in the anime, he is white. Regardless of media, he is an obvious parody of the famed Dragon Ball Z villain, Freeza. He fights like Freeza also, to the point of flying around in a craft and mercilessly eliminating his enemies just like the famed manga tyrant.

Purupu is best described as a reserved tyrant who is very polite despite his lust to kill. He is very strategic, as he has claimed to have learned all of Bo-bobo's weaknesses and strengths.

Purupu is the the second of the Four Heavenly Kings. However, unlike the other three, who are all incredibly powerful, Purupu has no real power what-so-ever (though he would claim otherwise). Because of this, he is the only Heavenly King to have no major arc in the series, with his defeat coming between Bo-bobo meeting Hatenko and the blond's invitation to the Blood Mansion. If he has any abilities, they were never seen in the manga or anime, but he was given the power to fire small lightning bolts in Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo 9 Kiwame Senshi Gyagu Yuugou.

History

When he is first seen, Purupu is attacking Iguana Town alongside his assistants, Kinen and Lamune. When met by the rebels, he immeadiatly claims that he is so powerful, that even his servants are stronger than Gunkan. However, all three of them are easily defeated by Don Patch shortly after he is introduced in both the anime and the manga (in fact, he only got two chapters/one episode).

He is seen again in OVER's Castle, lying unconcious on the floor, after being punished by OVER for his failures. After the destruction of the castle, Purupu was thought to be dead.

It is however proven wrong, as Purupu is shown to be a participant in the New Emperor Playoffs, and somehow manages to make it all the way to finals with Kinen. Victory is cut short however, as he and his assistant are used as sacrifices by the Reverse Maruhage Empire leaving Purupu in a power-drained, poorly drawn state. After Hydrate is defeated, he comes back to normal along with other sacrifices.

He appeared in Shinsetsu's last chapter, attending Tokoro Tennosuke's Maruhage Reunion. He is joined by both of his henchmen.
